Solitary Beauty Peak (Duxiu Feng)

Solitary Beauty Peak (Duxiu Feng) is one of Guilin 's most prominent karst peaks and is located in the city center.  Towering from the ground with an elevation of 216 meters, it is reputed as "Sky-Supporting Pillar in the South."

If you are willing to make the 306 step trek to the peak, you will be rewarded with fantastic views of Guilin, the Lijiang River, and the surrounding peaks. However, the stairs are very steep and reaching the top can be dangerous. Depending on the weather and your experience level, it may be best to explore only part of the way.

At the foot of the peak are Dushu Rock, Taiping Rock and Yueya Pond. On the eastern side of the hill there are many inscriptions from the Qing dynasty, such as "Southern Sky-supportingPillar" and "Purple Gown and Golden Belt." From the peak you can get a panoramic view of the whole city and all the mountains surrounding it.
